GSI BROOKS began in 2004 when GSI Brasil Ltda. joined forces with TDI Brooks International Inc. This merger was designed to expand the Petroleum System Expertise of GSI Brasil with the offshore field resource and environmental capabilities of TDI Brooks. The combination of these two companies provides the oil and gas industry world-renowned expertise and state-of-art geochemical, analytical and environmental technology for use in the exploration, production, refining, transportation and marketing of natural hydrocarbon resources. GSI Brooks’ objective is to offer focused, cost-effective, technical solutions that address our client’s needs while setting and maintaining the standard for quality, customer service and business ethics.

Since incorporation in 1999, GSI Brasil Ltda. has been pivotal in allowing its parent company, Geochemical Solutions International, Inc. (GSI), attain a significant market presence in Brazil by conducting non-exclusive, multi-client projects in support of hydrocarbon exploration. As one of the first companies authorized by the Agencia Nacional do Petroleo (ANP) to collect non-exclusive geochemical data for all Brazilian basins, GSI has compiled a portfolio of over 40 projects in diverse technical areas such as surface geochemistry (offshore piston coring and soil gas surveys), remote sensing, basin modeling, oil and source rock studies and oil quality prediction. These projects, which have been widely subscribed by the energy industry, were designed to evaluate hydrocarbon charge and source characteristics in order to identify petroleum systems and associated risk at the Regional, Basin, Field and Prospect scale. GSI Brasil has also provided its services on a proprietary basis to many of the energy companies presently operating in Brasil, including Petrobras. GSI Brasil was created by GSI, a U.S. corporation with offices in The Woodlands, Texas. In addition to Brazil, GSI has also conducted similar projects in West Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and throughout Latin America.

TDI Brooks is a U.S. corporation established in 1996 that provides scientific services on a global basis with a focus on environmental chemistry, multi-disciplinary environmental assessments, petroleum geochemistry, surface geochemical exploration, oil spill response, and oceanographic surveys. TDI owns and operates three marine research vessels (the R/V J.W. Powell, R/V Gyre, and the R/V GeoExplorer), has a state-of-the-art laboratory facility in College Station, Texas (operated by affiliate B&B Laboratories) and directs an accomplished staff with a broad range of expertise in geochemistry and environmental chemistry, as well as in chemical, biological, geological and physical oceanography. Based in College Station Texas, TDI’s clients include most major oil and gas companies, as well as numerous government agencies. The company also has offices in Colorado, Houston, and Washington, D.C. In addition to the United States, TDI has extensive international project experience in Africa, the Far East, Latin America, Canada and the Mediterranean region.
